About

Hi, I’m Lana. Born in the flattest country on earth, the Netherlands. Lucky to now call the Coastal Mountains of Turtle Island (Canada) my home.
I’m a versatile freelancer with a background in social design and research, and nearly 10 years of experience in the public domain, non-profit and care sector. My foundational education in Design Thinking and Doing took place at the Technical University in Delft (Interaction for Design, MsC & Industrial Design, Bsc). That said, most of my lessons were learned through projects I worked on and people I met all over the globe. Such as Bangladesh, China, Norway, Austria, and of course the Netherlands and now Canada.
My passion lies in employing facilitation, co-creation and visualization to empower community engagement and collective forward action.

I’m grateful to live, work and play on the unceded traditional lands of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.

My way of working

I am a creative thinker, visual connector and serious go-getter, who loves to hear your stories.

Together with you, I create refreshing concepts and collective solutions to drive social change.

Through images and imagination we capture the core of challenges and visualize future(s).

My kind of fun

In my free time you can find me outside in nature (often on a snowy mountain top), in my kitchen at home or in an artsy gallery with a cup of coffee. I love (backcountry) skiing, hiking, cycling, a bit of yoga, creativity and cooking. This is how I connect, to myself and others.

My guiding compass
