The space in cities is limited. But what if we would unlock the potential of rooftops? The Municipality of Rotterdam is a frontrunner in promoting multifunctional use of rooftops. By encouraging contractors, homeowners and policymakers to think beyond solar panels or greenery, Rotterdam aims to create a vibrant rooftop landscape. As visual consultant, I supported in the development of their policy by making it tangible through visual storytelling.
My role was to capture their story connecting vision and concrete outputs in a single drawing. To support the policy development and decision-making, I also created visual minutes of advisory council meetings and designed additional explanatory graphics for their policy document.
Paul van Roosmalen, Program Manager at the Municipality of Rotterdam, reviews our collaboration:
Lana assisted us in 2022 with visualizing a complex policy process. Despite not being an expert in the field of multifunctional roof use, she captured the process very clearly. Thanks to her visualizations, we were able to share and discuss complex matters more effectively.
Lana possesses a remarkable talent for quickly familiarizing herself with new issues and representing them in a simple, appealing, and structured manner. She does so with a pleasant personal drive and enthusiastic approach.
