Visual wayfinding and storytelling

The value of visualization is found in how you get there (process), and ensuring the visual is a means to an end (purpose). Visuals create a space for dialogue and deeper understanding, both for you and the audience you want to reach. This is why I collaborate closely and work iteratively when designing a visual. Through drawing I help you imagine the story you like to share. Together we find the way to the right image, learning by doing.

Each visual collaboration consists of 5 steps to help us get to a visual that tells a comprehensive and engaging story:

  1. Define your goal(s): What do you want to share with who and why?
  2. Sketch a structure: What are the key components of your story?
  3. Create the concept: How can we make this storyline come alive?
  4. Draft a 0.9 version: What is missing and what could we leave out?
  5. Finalize the visual: Deliver in print and/or digital format (e.g. jpg, png, pdf)

To get a picture of what visuals or components of it could look like, take a peek in the gallery below. In a quick call we can talk about your preliminary goals and I can share more specific visual formats to match your purpose. The style of the visual will be designed to match your brandguide.
